Salon d'art 개관 특별 전시회내 마음 별과 가치
A R T I S TKANGHOON KANG (B.1979~)
강강훈은 홍콩, 싱가폴, 상하이 등 여러차례의 해외 아트페어에 소개되어 솔드 아웃되는 기염을 토해내며, 세계를 무대로 활동하고 있는 한국 현대미술을 대표하는 작가 중 한명이다. 얼굴의 미세한 솜털과 땀구멍까지 세밀히 묘사해 사진으로 착각하게 하는 인물화 연작을 선보이는 강강훈은 극사실주의의 기본원리인 ‘리얼리즘’ 원리에 충실하면서도 단순히 재현의 차원에서 묘사하는 것이 아니라 인물의 감정선을 따라 내연의 세계로 진입하려 한다. 그의 미학적 태도는 전통적인 한국 초상화 제작기법에서 아주 중요하게 언급되는 전신사조(傳神寫照)와 맞닿아 있다.
한 작품이 나오기까지 많은 공과 시간을 들이기로 유명한 강강훈은 이번 작품에서 작가의 딸을 모티브로 백색의 물감을 딸의 머리카락에 에 묻히는 행위를 하고 이를 화폭에 옮기는데 이는 화가인 자신을 딸과 함께 화폭 안에 존재하게 하려는 의도로 보인다.관람자가 작품을 통해 보게 되는 장면은 단지 물감을 묻힌 딸의초상이 아니다. 그것은 화폭과 관람자 사이에 존재하는 아빠로서의 화가의 시선이다.
세계적인 유수의 컬렉터에게 작품이 소장되고 국내 굴지의 미술관에서 전시한 강강훈은 박여숙화랑(2012,2009)에서 개인전을 가졌고, 경기도 박물관(2015), 경남도립미술관(2013), 제주현대미술관(2013). 서울시립미술관(2011) 등의 그룹전에 참여했다.
